SEN. JOHN CORNYN HAS COJONES… FOR NOW

Two things can happen now. Cornyn could stand by his comments and challenge the Republican status quo that has earned them a solid 21% favorability ranking from voters. But, as the Daily Kos notes, how likely is such a scenario? What gives us the confidence to believe that Cornyn won’t grovel to Boss Limbaugh’s knees and beg for forgiveness like Republicans Eric Cantor, Michael Steele, and Mark Sanford before him?

We are unsure of whether that was the first meeting. I doubt it. Will all be reconciled in one meeting? Of course not. But there is much more to be gained than lost from engaging in talks. How much worse could relations between the U.S. and Venezuela have been under George W. Bush?
